A Miami rapper charged with murdering her manager before being run over in the street said she was back at home Monday, having experienced something "traumatic and life-changing."
Kevhani Camilla Hicks, 27, was caught on video shooting at two men who had been pinning her down on October 9.
Hicks claimed in an Instagram post Monday morning that she was at home, with a Miami-Dade official later confirming to The Messenger that she was under house arrest with an ankle monitor.
"I just want to personally thank everyone who supports me and knows that I'm not the horrible person some are claiming that I am," Hicks, who performs as Key Vhani, said in the post.
"I can't comment on the case at all, but I pray you all continue to stand by me and support me through this tragic time."
Security footage which emerged Friday showed Hicks in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood arguing with her manager. The argument escalated and became physical, with a second man joining.
The pair pinned Hicks to the ground before she managed to get up again. She retrieves a gun from her bag and fires multiple times, with the second man fleeing, while the manager attempted to hide.
Hicks was seen following him behind a car and shooting again before another car partially ran her over. She was hospitalized with blunt-force trauma wounds, while the manager suffered several gunshot wounds.
Hicks reportedly told police that she was involved in a verbal argument which turned physical, and that she opened fire because she feared for her life.
She was held on a $50,000 bond and was reportedly due to be released on house arrest.
