Brownlee is accused of shooting Seyedeh 'Zahra' Hashemi in the face above her right eye after an argument following Independence Day celebrations.
'Zahra' was found lying in the road outside a vehicle and was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police that Brownlee and his girlfriend got into a "heated argument" while walking home from the Flower Mound Independence Fest.
While driving, Brownlee and his girlfriend continued arguing.
