A wedding reception in Pangkep, South Sulawesi, ended in sorrow after a young man named Fajar, 18, died while playing the dagger in a traditional Angngaru performance.
“The victim was carrying out a traditional custom or angngaru using a dagger-type sharp weapon when picking up the groom,” said the police chief in his statement,
The victim brought a dagger and drew it, then pointed it at his chest, which unexpectedly turned out to be the point of the dagger that penetrated the victim’s left chest.
“Suddenly, the sharp tip of the dagger used by the victim penetrated the left chest, causing the victim to immediately fall,” said police chief.
Finding the victim fallen, the surrounding guests immediately provided assistance by taking the victim to the Pundata Baji Health Center. But unfortunately, the victim died on the way.
