Airlines are considering issuing weight-based fees for obese passengers, according to Fox News.
The Fox report comes as airlines are exploring ways of reducing fuel costs and protecting the environment.
Finnair recently expanded their "weight data collection initiative" where passengers voluntarily weigh themselves before getting on a plane.
"These developments indicate a growing interest in the airline industry in exploring weight-based strategies for both operational efficiency and potential future pricing models," Fox reported.
The report comes as overweight flyers are beginning to lash out at airlines for making the "seats too small."
One influencer has launched a petition, demanding that the airlines make bigger seats.
