

HOUSTON – Houston police have released surveillance video of three suspects wanted in connection with the death of a man found on March 2.
The suspects were captured on camera near the scene at the 2900 block of Westridge Street around 1:10 a.m. One was wearing a white T-shirt and green shorts, another wore a black sweater with an orange design, black pants, and blue shoes, while the third was dressed in a black sweater, black shorts, and carried a pink bag.
Officers responded to a reported assault in progress at a Valero parking lot, where they found the unresponsive man near a private driveway.
Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the medical examiner’s office, the victim is 24-year-old Gavin Melchor. The medical examiner’s office ruled his manner of death as homicide with the primary cause being multiple blunt force injuries.
KPRC 2 learned he worked as a warehouse distributor at Yumi Ice Cream. Coworkers said they were concerned when he didn’t show up to work the Monday following the attack.
On Melchor’s public obituary page, loved ones remember him as a “soul so full of love, energy, and kindness.”
