In today’s episode of “This Is Not What You Think It Is,” a 63-year-old Maine woman is accused of interfering with a police investigation into a serious school threat—because she reportedly believed the officers were ICE agents.
According to police, retired New York State Police sergeant Mary Conmee drove straight into an active law-enforcement operation and made her presence extremely known. How? By blasting an air horn and yelling that she “didn’t want ICE” in her neighborhood.
Subtlety was not part of the plan.
The Brewer Police Department says Conmee repeatedly sounded the air horn, ignored lawful orders to leave the area, and allegedly shouted expletives at officers who were actively investigating the threat.
Police also say Conmee explicitly told them she “didn’t want ICE” nearby—despite the fact that this was, in fact, a local police operation. Officers say her actions interfered with legitimate law-enforcement work and created a real risk to those on scene.
As a result, Conmee has been summoned on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Government Administration.
