Terrifying Moment A Baby Was Pulled From A Sinking Car As It Floated By A Drainage Pipe

A terrifying scene unfolded in Makhachkala, in southern Russia, when a car carrying a mother and her young child plunged into water and began to sink.

Video from the scene shows three men rushing toward the vehicle as it filled with water, smashing a window and reaching inside while the car was still partially submerged. In the chaos, they managed to pull the baby through the window and pass the child to safety just seconds before the car sank further.

Bystanders could be heard shouting as the rescue unfolded, with the men working quickly and without hesitation as the water rose around them. The child was brought to dry ground and appeared to be conscious after the rescue.

According to reports from the scene, the mother was pulled from the sinking vehicle moments later. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and assisted both victims.

Authorities have not released details on how the car ended up in the water, and it is unclear whether weather, road conditions, or a mechanical issue played a role. No serious injuries were reported.
