Video Shows Anti-ICE Trouble-Makers Rob And Harass And Elderly Asian Man In Los Angeles

A viral video from an anti-ICE protest in Los Angeles is drawing sharp backlash after appearing to show young agitators harassing and robbing an elderly Asian man who had joined the demonstration in solidarity.

The 15 second clip, filmed January 31, shows the senior citizen surrounded amid a chaotic crowd as tensions spill over. Local Instagram accounts that documented the protest reported the man was robbed shortly after the confrontation, a detail that has fueled outrage online and cut sharply against the movement’s claims of unity and compassion.

The incident unfolded during a night of unrest as demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement escalated across the city. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, agitators threw water bottles and other objects at officers, and one suspect allegedly used a slingshot to fire hard metal objects at police. Authorities said protesters were “actively fighting” with officers as the situation deteriorated.

By the end of the night, LAPD had detained more than 50 people while working to regain control of the scene.
