A Philadelphia man is in critical condition after being beaten and pistol-whipped during a fight over a parking spot that had been cleared of snow, according to police.
The altercation started between a 45-year-old man and a 21-year-old man. Police say both men drew weapons, a knife and a legally owned handgun, but eventually put them down and continued the fight with their fists.
Surveillance video from the scene shows multiple other people joining the brawl, turning the dispute into a chaotic melee. The 45-year-old victim was hospitalized with serious head injuries and remains in critical condition.
Authorities say all participants were taken into custody, but no charges have been filed yet as the investigation continues. The incident is a stark reminder of how quickly a minor argument, even over something like a snow-cleared parking spot, can spiral into a dangerous situation involving weapons.
Police are asking anyone with additional information or footage of the fight to come forward to help with their investigation.
