Man Throws A Grenade Inside A Beauty Salon In Grenoble France, Injuring 6 Including A Child
37 days ago
French authorities are investigating a brazen grenade attack that injured six people inside a beauty salon in the center of Grenoble on Friday, marking the latest violent incident to rattle the city.
According to reports, two suspects entered the salon on February 6 and threw a hand grenade before fleeing the scene. Witnesses described hearing screams followed by a loud explosion that sent debris flying through the shop and left customers and staff scrambling for safety.
Six people were injured in the blast, including a five year old child. Firefighters treated the victims at the scene, and officials said none of the injuries were life threatening or required hospitalization.
The attack comes just one year after a far more serious grenade assault in Grenoble, when an explosive was thrown into a bar in February 2025, heightening concerns that the use of military grade weapons in civilian areas is becoming disturbingly normalized.
France’s criminal investigation department has opened an inquiry and is working to determine a motive. As of now, authorities have not announced any arrests or identified the suspects, and it remains unclear whether the salon attack is connected to prior incidents in the city.
The use of a hand grenade in a busy commercial area has sparked renewed questions about public safety and the state’s ability to contain violent crime, particularly as ordinary businesses and families increasingly find themselves caught in the crossfire.
Officials have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
