A disturbing case is unfolding involving former reality TV contestant Caleb Flynn, who once chased fame on national television and is now accused of murdering his own wife in what investigators say was a staged crime scene.
Flynn, who auditioned for American Idol Season 12 in 2013 but failed to advance past Hollywood Week, was heard in a frantic 911 call pleading for help after his wife Ashley was found dead in their home. Audio of the call, obtained by TMZ, captures Flynn sobbing and begging dispatchers to hurry as he claimed an intruder had broken in and shot her.
“Please please hurry please hurry,” Flynn cried through tears, before telling the dispatcher that his wife had suffered “two shots to her head.” He struggled to breathe as he described the scene, repeatedly urging authorities to arrive quickly.
Flynn told the dispatcher the garage door had been left wide open, pushing the narrative of a home invasion. He also said his daughters were in their bedrooms at the time.
“I was with the children when it happened,” he said. “They’re in their room, they’re not even awake.”
He went on to describe “blood everywhere” and said Ashley was not responding.
But according to investigators, the emotional call was part of an alleged cover-up.
Three days after the killing, on February 19, Flynn was arrested and charged with murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. Police allege Flynn shot his wife himself and then attempted to stage the scene to resemble a burglary.
The revelation has shocked those familiar with Flynn’s carefully crafted public image.
During his 2013 audition, Flynn spoke lovingly about his wife and credited her with encouraging his music career. He described himself as a music pastor who loved God and his family, calling Ashley “very very pretty” and saying he loved her more than anything.
“I auditioned because music is all I know,” he said at the time. “It’s what I live to do. I love to sing. Maybe my wife kind of nudged me a little bit too.”
When he received his Golden Ticket, Flynn said he cried tears of joy, describing the moment as meaningful and life-changing.
Now, that wholesome image has collapsed under the weight of grim allegations.
