Footage circulating online shows Kathryn Krick, leader of 5F Church in Los Angeles, standing over a woman who appears to be convulsing on the ground, loudly commanding what she calls a “spirit of witchcraft” to leave her body.
The woman can be heard screaming in apparent resistance before suddenly calming down, later expressing relief and gratitude, a dramatic shift that has fueled both belief and skepticism online.
Krick, who has built a massive following of over one million on TikTok, brands herself as a modern-day apostle specializing in public exorcisms, a practice she frequently broadcasts to a global audience. Supporters claim these moments are evidence of real spiritual warfare playing out in real time.
But critics say something far more troubling may be going on.
Investigations and profiles, including reports from Alta Journal and independent YouTube inquiries in recent years, have raised alarms about the theatrical nature of these sessions, pointing to repeated patterns, dramatic reactions, highly emotional participants, and public displays that some say resemble performance more than genuine healing.
Even more concerning are allegations that vulnerable individuals may be targeted, encouraged to believe they are possessed, and then drawn deeper into the ministry through emotional dependency and financial contributions.
