A handcuffed woman has sparked a frantic manhunt after she was caught on camera astonishingly wriggling her way out of a police cruiser window and fleeing, all while officers appeared completely unaware of her escape.

The unidentified woman had been arrested on Saturday afternoon in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, for allegedly violating her parole, after police investigating a suspicious vehicle discovered her inside a car parked at an abandoned business.

Officers approached the vehicle and were able to identify the driver, but initially struggled to confirm the identity of the female passenger, according to reports. A fingerprint scanner was eventually used, revealing she had an outstanding parole violation.

She was then handcuffed, with her hands secured behind her back, and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle.

But what happened next has left authorities and viewers stunned.

Video footage shows the woman somehow maneuvering herself headfirst through the open rear window of the cruiser, despite being restrained. In a remarkable display of flexibility and determination, she lowers one leg out of the vehicle before dropping onto the street and making her escape.

At the same time, officers nearby appear to be distracted, focusing their attention on a white pickup truck parked beside two police vehicles, seemingly oblivious to the dramatic breakout unfolding just feet away.

The moment of realization came too late.

An officer is later seen approaching the cruiser and tapping on the rear window, only to discover that the suspect had already vanished, prompting an urgent search of the area.

As of late Monday afternoon, the woman remains at large, with authorities yet to publicly identify her. The Muskegon Heights Police Department has not issued further comment on the incident.

In a troubling development, a local resident reported that someone attempted to break into their home later that same day, at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Police now believe the escaped woman may be linked to the attempted home invasion, which occurred less than an hour after her daring getaway.

The incident has raised serious questions about how a handcuffed suspect was able to escape custody so easily, and without immediate detection, in what is rapidly becoming one of the most bizarre police blunders in recent memory.
