A shocking attack inside a municipal office in Ordu, Turkey, has left a city employee seriously injured after an elderly man allegedly stormed in and struck him with a concealed cleaver.
Disturbing CCTV footage shows the suspect, identified as Y.D., entering the Aybastı Municipality building and calmly approaching a desk where special affairs secretary Adem Demirkale was working.
What began as what appeared to be a routine interaction quickly escalated.
The man is seen suddenly pulling out a hidden cleaver and striking Demirkale in the head, sparking panic among staff and visitors inside the office.
Colleagues and bystanders rushed in within seconds, tackling the attacker and wrestling him to the ground before restraining him on site until authorities arrived.
The victim suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment. Officials later confirmed that while his wounds were severe, his condition has since stabilized.
The attacker was detained at the scene, with authorities now working to determine what led to the violent outburst.
