A Turkish photographer and former reality star just turned a YouTube chat into a full-blown obscenity case by casually showing off the sex toy she wears around her neck like jewelry.

Bennu Gerede, 54, appeared on a podcast and proudly displayed a rose-gold pendant that doubles as a portable vibrator. She told viewers she likes keeping the device “at hand,” explaining it has multiple settings and can be used discreetly, even in a bathroom or while driving.

Turkish authorities were not amused.

Istanbul’s Bakırköy prosecutor’s office immediately launched an investigation under the country’s strict obscenity laws (Article 226 of the Turkish Penal Code). Cops detained the blonde photographer, and prosecutors demanded the entire podcast episode be blocked in Turkey.

Gerede spent time in custody before a court released her, but slapped her with a foreign travel ban while the case continues.

The well-connected Istanbul native (granddaughter of an Atatürk-era diplomat and daughter of a director) has long cultivated a free-spirited image. She’s lived abroad, studied photography in New York, and previously appeared on the Turkish version of Survivor. None of that stopped prosecutors from treating her necklace confession like a public menace. No actual sex acts were shown. Just a middle-aged woman describing her personal solution for when the mood strikes. In today’s Turkey, that was enough to get her hauled in.

Gerede is free for now, but her “portable” accessory has officially made her a wanted woman, at least as far as the morality squad is concerned.
