A man accused of gunning down his girlfriend and young son inside a home in upstate New York laughed in court as he admitted to the killings.

David Huff, 43, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder over the deaths of his girlfriend, Yeraldith Tschudy, 32, and his 11-year-old son, Jeremiah Huff, during a disturbing court appearance in Syracuse on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Huff used a shotgun to kill both victims inside his stepfather’s home in Syracuse, leaving the courtroom stunned as details of the case were laid out before him.

But in a chilling moment during the hearing, Huff appeared to smirk and laugh while Judge Ted Limpert read through the charges against him.

“You find this funny?” Limpert asked sharply from the bench.

Huff quickly replied: “No, no, it’s a joke stuck in my head.”

The bizarre exchange only deepened the sense of horror surrounding the case, which has shaken the local community.

When formally asked about the murders, Huff offered a blunt response.

“I’m guilty of all that,” he said. “Whatever you guys say, I’m guilty of.”

The guilty plea means Huff has now admitted responsibility for the deaths of both Tschudy and his son, Jeremiah.

Authorities have not publicly discussed a possible motive behind the killings.

Huff is expected to face a lengthy prison sentence when he returns to court for sentencing.
