THIS is the terrifying moment a woman allegedly drove her car onto a sidewalk and appeared to chase a child riding an e-bike through a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington.
Disturbing footage of the incident has spread online after police arrested 56-year-old Wendy Clemente on multiple charges, including first-degree attempted assault and DUI.
According to investigators, the confrontation began when Clemente reportedly drove up alongside the child and exchanged words with him while he was riding his e-bike.
Moments later, a video appears to show the woman steering her vehicle onto the sidewalk and pursuing the child as he tried to escape.
The boy was not injured during the incident.
Authorities say Clemente then fled the area following the confrontation.
About a mile away, a homeowner later contacted 911 after spotting a suspicious woman on security cameras allegedly attempting to open the doors of their home.
Police responded to the scene and encountered Clemente, who officers said initially denied consuming alcohol despite allegedly showing obvious signs of impairment.
Investigators later said she changed her story and admitted to drinking.
During her arrest, Clemente allegedly attempted to kick one of the responding officers while being taken into custody.
She was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges including first-degree attempted assault, driving under the influence and criminal trespass.
The shocking footage quickly sparked outrage online, with many viewers expressing disbelief that a child was allegedly chased by a vehicle on a public sidewalk.
Others praised the child for managing to escape unharmed from what could have become a deadly incident.
Police have not publicly disclosed what triggered the initial verbal confrontation between Clemente and the child.
