Dramatic footage from the Philippines shows a fireball meteor plunging towards the slopes of Mayon Volcano, just as it spews rivers of red-hot lava. But that's not all... seconds later, a mysterious glowing object seems to emerge from the same spot and shoot upwards into the night sky.
The jaw-dropping incident, captured on a live webcam on May 25, 2026, at around 10:33pm local time, has sent the internet into meltdown, with conspiracy theorists claiming it proves aliens are using volcanoes as bases, or even acting as 'guardians' to prevent natural disasters.
The video, originally from PHIVOLCS (the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology) monitoring camera on Ligñon Hill, shows the perfectly conical Mayon Volcano, one of the world's most active and beautiful, glowing orange with fresh lava flows snaking down its sides.
Suddenly, a brilliant green fireball streaks across the sky, appearing to slam directly behind the mountain in a flash of light. Moments later, as the dust settles, a small but distinct bright light is seen rising steadily from the area.
Theories exploded online, with many pointing to similar sightings near erupting volcanoes like Mexico's Popocatépetl, where orbs and strange lights have allegedly been filmed for years. 'Aliens acting as caretakers preventing cataclysms,' suggested one post. Others were less convinced: 'It's a rooster in the background and people are still calling it a UFO,' joked a viewer.
