A South Korean travel vlogger’s jaw-dropping social experiment to test women’s safety in South Asia has backfired most horrifyingly — leaving him covered in bruises, traumatized, and with a brutal new understanding of street harassment.

YouTuber Sumin (known on YouTube as “I am Sumin”), who boasts tens of thousands of subscribers for his bold travel adventures, decided to go undercover as an “unattractive pregnant woman” in crowded streets across India and Bangladesh. Wig, makeup, dress, and a fake baby bump, the full transformation.

What happened next was pure nightmare fuel.

In viral clips that have exploded across X and Reddit, Sumin is seen being repeatedly groped, grabbed, and surrounded by packs of men in chaotic festival crowds. One harrowing sequence shows him in what appears to be a frenzied Holi-like celebration, engulfed by dozens of aggressive hands as colorful powder flies everywhere. He’s pulled, hugged forcibly, and manhandled while trying to escape the mob.

“When he finally escaped… the thought of dying,” reads one translated overlay in the shocking edit circulating online. Sumin later confessed the experience left him limping, shell-shocked, and questioning everything. “I have a very different understanding of how ‘safe’ things really are,” he reportedly said.

The footage, some of it set to dramatic Mandarin narration, shows the disguised vlogger navigating bustling markets and streets, only to face a barrage of unwanted touching and advances that quickly turned dangerous. In one gut-wrenching moment, he’s seen looking dazed and defeated after breaking free from the swarm.
