An 83-year-old woman was left cowering in her own bed as a gang of masked men stormed her west London home and rifled through her belongings in front of her.
Harrowing Ring camera footage, filmed from above the victim’s bed in Hayes, shows the moment the intruders burst in shortly after 10 pm on 29 June. The elderly woman, who had been asleep, sits up as one of the men appears to brandish a blade towards her.
The raiders, dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas, move through the room with little apparent urgency. Drawers are pulled open, items scattered across the floor, and belongings stuffed into bags while the pensioner remains in bed, watching helplessly.
Within two minutes they are gone, taking several pieces of jewellery and around £500 in cash.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to Judge Heath Lane at 9.57 pm after reports of a burglary. By the time they arrived, the suspects had fled. One man was captured on CCTV carrying a weapon. No injuries were reported.
A Met spokesman said the force understood “the concern that incidents like this can cause for those affected and the wider community.” Detectives said they were pursuing all lines of enquiry. No arrests have been made.
The footage, first widely reported in August, has circulated again this week, prompting fresh outrage online. Viewers have described the raid as brazen, noting how little haste the men showed while inside the property.
