Wild Video Shows A Train Destroying A Truck Into Splintered Jenga Pieces

Shocking footage from a suburban station platform in Gdańsk shows the exact second a speeding Intercity slams into a tractor-trailer lorry, sending metal, dust and wreckage flying across the tracks like a bomb going off.

The clip, filmed Thursday afternoon from Gdańsk Lipce, starts almost peacefully: an orange truck sits on the crossing under a cloudy sky. Seconds later the train arrives. Impact. A cloud of debris explodes. The lorry is ripped apart. The train keeps going. Passengers on the platform would have felt the blast.

It happened at about 1.25 pm on the crossing at ul. Niegowska. The PKP Intercity service from Gdynia Główna to Zielona Góra hit the trailer of a heavy goods vehicle that had ended up on the rails. Witnesses say the barrier lifted too early, giving the driver a fatal green light that wasn’t one. The truck rolled on. The train did not stop.

Seven fire crews, including a specialist technical rescue team, raced in. Five ambulances followed. The lorry driver was conscious and taken to hospital. The train driver and several passengers complained of minor injuries. Nobody else needed a hospital bed. Four people were hurt in total, after a collision that looks, on video, like it should have killed everyone in the first three carriages.

Rail traffic in both directions was halted. PKP PLK called it “serious disruption.” The wreckage sat twisted against the platform canopy while emergency lights strobed through the dust.

Investigators will now pick over the barrier timing, the driver’s decision, and why a truck ended up boxed between the gates with a long-distance passenger train seconds away. Until then, the footage does the talking: one of those rare, ugly videos where physics should have written a far darker ending, and didn’t.
