Genius Trucker Turns Into His Own Backseat Driver, Then DESTROYS His Rig

A Mexican trucker decided the driver’s seat was optional, hopped up like he was late for a meeting in the sleeper berth, and promptly turned his 18-wheeler into a rolling disaster.

Dashcam footage from inside the cab shows the middle-aged driver in a blue T-shirt casually standing, twisting around, and pawing at a giant fan while the big rig barrels down a highway in Veracruz state at about 40 mph. GPS coordinates slap the scene right in Mexico’s Veracruz region. The clip, timestamped March 2026, only recently exploded across social media.

The guy keeps leaving the steering wheel like it’s a suggestion. He stands. He sits. He stands again. At one point he’s half-crouched, messing with stuff in the back of the cab while the truck keeps rolling. It’s the vehicular equivalent of texting while skydiving.

Then it happens. After the third time he abandons the wheel to reach toward the bunk, the truck drifts. He lunges back, yanks the wheel, and the whole thing leaves the road in a violent crash. One South African trucking site that picked up the video described it as the driver “reaching for his bunk” before disaster struck.

Social media did what social media does. One commenter dryly noted the driver “was fired for his actions but don’t worry, later was hired by Amazon to fly a cargo plane.” Another simply called him a moron, “no matter the country.”

Trucking safety experts will tell you the same thing your mother told you: stay in your seat. This guy treated the cab like his living room and found out the hard way that gravity and 80,000 pounds of steel don’t care about your personal space.

The video doesn’t show whether anyone else was hurt. Authorities in Veracruz have not publicly identified the driver or announced charges. But the footage is a master class in how not to operate a commercial vehicle.

Stay seated, folks. The backseat is for passengers, not the guy who’s supposed to be driving.
