There are a million ways to miss a cruise. Oversleep. Get stuck in traffic. Fight with your boyfriend in the hotel lobby until the gangway is already gone. All of those are embarrassing. None of them come close to what this woman just pulled off.
The woman is flying across wet pavement in an orange bikini, white cover-up that is barely hanging on, and a straw hat big enough to land a helicopter. She’s barefoot, bags in one hand, shoes in the other, and she is moving. The main event starts immediately: those things are bouncing like they’re trying to escape the bikini. Every stride is a full-on physics demonstration. Up, down, side to side. The cover-up isn’t helping. Nothing is helping.
Then she hits the wet tiles.
First slip. Feet shoot out. The hat goes one way. A shoe goes another. She stays upright for a split second like she’s trying to save it, but gravity already won. Second wipeout is the one that matters. She goes down hard on her ass and the bounce that was happening while she ran now becomes a weapon. Those same boobs that were putting on a show a second ago snap forward with the impact. For a brief, horrifying moment, it looks like they’re going to take her own eyes out. The kind of fall where you instinctively cover your face even though you’re just watching a video.
She ends up in a heap on the wet ground, cover-up everywhere, bags scattered, looking like she just lost a fight with the dock itself. A guy in a black hat appears, helps her up, and puts an arm around her like he’s trying to decide whether to laugh or call an ambulance.
Cruise ships do not wait. Everybody who has ever taken one knows this. They pull that gangway on the minute and if you’re not on it, you’re watching your vacation leave without you. This woman didn’t just miss the boat. She gave the entire terminal a live demonstration of what happens when you combine last-call energy, wet pavement, and a bikini that was not designed for sprinting.
If she made the ship, she deserves a drink and a new cover-up. If she didn’t, at least she gave the rest of us the most honest 64 seconds of content we’ll see this week.
Watch it. Then watch the fall again. You’ll know exactly which part I’m talking about.
