Viewers were left gobsmacked after watching police wrestle a wild-eyed man in a filthy shack using long metal poles more commonly seen in wildlife captures than human arrests.

The chaotic footage opens inside a cramped, cluttered room that looks more like an abandoned shed than a home. Officers in tactical vests crowd the doorway, jabbing and pinning a dishevelled figure who thrashes like a cornered animal.

At first glance it is easy to assume they are dealing with a dangerous wild creature. Only after several tense minutes does it become clear the target is a man.

The clip shows officers using the poles to keep distance while they try to control the suspect’s frantic movements. One man in a dark vest leans in with a baton-like tool. Another in a tan uniform stands ready. The space is packed with debris, hanging items, and a doorway that offers little room to manoeuvre.

After the indoor struggle, the scene shifts outside. The man is hauled toward a white pickup truck under bright sunlight, still resisting as officers load him into the back.

The images are brutal and unforgettable. A pack of officers treating a human being with the same tools used on livestock or dangerous animals. In a country better known for beaches and smiles, this raw footage tells a very different story.

Police have not publicly detailed why such extreme restraint was needed. That vacuum has only fuelled speculation about drugs, violence or a suspect who simply refused to go quietly.
