Female Cop Accidentally Shoots Woman She’s Chatting With And The CCTV Looks Even Weirder Than It Sounds

A Venezuelan police officer chatting with a 22-year-old woman outside a Caracas metro station drew her service pistol, pointed it at the woman’s midsection, and pulled the trigger.

The June incident, captured on grainy security cameras, has gone viral all over again after being dumped onto X this week with zero context. Viewers immediately clocked the awkward positioning and started asking the obvious question: How the hell does that look like an accident?

Officer Siomary Clemencia Fernández Castillo of the Policía Nacional Bolivariana was leaning on a metal railing at the Bello Monte station, one leg swinging like she was waiting for a bus. Nairelis del Mar González Ávalo stood close by in a short skirt, the two of them talking like old friends.

Then Castillo pulled her Glock 9mm. She handled it, brought it toward the woman’s hip and abdomen, and the gun went off.

González grabbed her side and crumpled. The pair hurried toward a nearby police post, the part of the video that cuts to an indoor area with colorful kids’ play equipment, looking for help. Firefighters and civil protection crews arrived. The 22-year-old was rushed to Hospital Domingo Luciani, where she underwent surgery. Authorities later said she was out of danger.

Police called it a “regrettable accident.” An internal probe was opened. Some local reports said Castillo was detained over improper handling of her weapon.

The footage itself is what sent the internet sideways. In still frames, the officer is standing right behind the civilian as she bends toward the railing. Replies on the original post ranged from “I thought they were about to hook up” to “Women should never be in law enforcement” to flat-out claims that the shot was on purpose.

Venezuelan outlets that first reported the story in early June described a relaxed conversation that suddenly turned into a gunshot. No struggle. No threat. Just two women talking until one of them fired a round into the other.

The video circulating now is the same CCTV that first leaked months ago. It loops the outdoor railing scene and the scramble for help. No one has released body-cam or additional angles that would show exactly how Castillo’s finger ended up on the trigger.

For now, the internet is left with the pictures: a cop perched on a railing, a civilian bent over next to her, and a service weapon that went off at close range. Accidental or not, it looks like something no police academy ever taught.
