A kindergarten classroom video circulating online has drawn intense scrutiny after it showed a teacher dancing in a sexually suggestive style in front of young students, some of them standing on desks.
The clip, filmed inside a classroom filled with typical elementary-school furnishings, shows the teacher in the center of the room as music plays. Two girls stand on tables on either side of her. Other children are visible in the background. The teacher then bends forward, places her hands on her knees, and continues the dance with her back to the camera. Viewers have described the routine as twerking.
The footage appears to have been recorded during the school day. One version circulating with the video carried a caption suggesting the teacher posted it herself: “POV: you have students that match your personality.” Coverage of the clip has linked the incident to Louisiana.
The video raises straightforward questions for school officials. Was this instructional time? Were parents told their children would be filmed and posted online? Why were kindergartners standing on classroom tables? And does the district consider a club-style dance an appropriate activity for 5-year-olds?
