A jaw-dropping before-and-after video of a 58-year-old Turkish man who flew to Vietnam for facial rejuvenation surgery is exploding online, with one Turkish news account claiming he “became 55 years younger.” The clip, posted Wednesday by GaGa Haber, has already drawn more than 1.3 million views and thousands of stunned, joking reactions.
The patient, who identifies himself in the video as Dawn from Turkey, underwent a combo procedure at Ekip J Park Beauty Center that included work on his forehead, face, neck, and eyelids. In the promotional footage, he points to sagging around his neck and eyes before surgery. Afterward, the clinic slaps “POST-OP 45 YEARS OLD” across the screen as he stands beside the surgeon with a far tighter jawline, smoother lids, and less loose skin.
The headline number in the original Turkish post, “55 years younger”, doesn’t match the clinic’s own overlay of 45. That gap has not slowed the clip. Commenters piled on with typical social-media irreverence. One popular reply joked that the man “went in Turkish and came out Egyptian.” Others simply posted side-by-side photos and asked how it was even possible.
Vietnam has become a magnet for this kind of medical tourism. Clinics there advertise full SMAS or combo face-and-neck lifts in the $3,000–$7,000 range, a fraction of what Americans often pay at home ($12,000–$25,000). Australian and European patients have already been circulating similar transformation videos from Vietnamese surgeons, many of whom market Korean-trained techniques and shorter hospital stays.
The video itself is classic clinic marketing: operating-room shots, a bandage-removal sequence, a gift-bag sendoff, and English subtitles urging viewers to leave comments. The surgeon appears in scrubs, then later in a suit, presenting the result as nearly bruise-free. Independent plastic surgeons routinely warn that heavily produced clinic videos can flatten swelling, hide scars, and overstate how “natural” the result will look six months later. Results also vary wildly with skin quality, age, and how much tissue is actually lifted.
Still, the numbers tell why the clip hit. A middle-aged man from Turkey, already a country famous for its own cheap cosmetic-surgery packages, chose Vietnam instead and walked out looking, at least on camera, more than a decade younger. That combination of price, drama, and an instantly shareable face is catnip for social media.
Whether Dawn’s result holds up in real life remains to be seen. What is already clear is that more patients are treating Asia’s operating rooms like a discount time machine, and the internet cannot look away.
