Raging bull lifts brand-new Peugeot off the ground and rips it apart during Spanish fiesta as horrified onlookers film from balconies – and the owner says he had NO idea the streets were closed for the running of the bulls.

Jaw-dropping footage shows the moment a furious black bull turned a parked car into scrap metal during traditional festivities in a small Spanish town, repeatedly goring the vehicle, hoisting its rear end more than half a metre into the air and slamming it against a wall while terrified runners cowered behind it for cover.

The chaotic scenes unfolded in Tendilla, a village in Guadalajara province roughly 100 kilometres from Madrid, during the patron saint celebrations in mid-September 2025. As is customary in many Spanish towns, the fiestas included an encierro, a bull run through the streets, in which specially bred fighting bulls are released and chased by participants.

According to local reports and widely circulated video, a nearly new black Peugeot 208 had been left parked directly on the route. Two runners, seeking refuge from an oncoming animal, ducked behind the car. The bull, described by witnesses as a powerful morlaco weighing well over 500 kilograms and possibly closer to 600, immediately fixed on the vehicle.

In the clip, filmed from a balcony overlooking the narrow street, the animal charges the rear of the compact hatchback. Its horns dig in under the bumper. With a single explosive heave of its neck and shoulders, it lifts the 1,200-kilogram car clear of the ground, shifts it sideways and drives it into a nearby wall and a small roadside tree. Pieces of bodywork fly off. The rear bumper is torn completely free and left dangling or discarded. The bull continues to ram and hook the car for several seconds, twisting panels and gouging deep dents before eventually moving on. A second animal is reported to have joined the assault moments later; one of the bulls injured a horn in the process and began bleeding heavily.

The car’s owner, identified in Spanish media as Fran, later told local television he was not from Tendilla and had no idea the fiestas or the bull run were taking place that day. “There were other cars parked and there was no sign around,” he said. “I didn’t even know there were festivals.” He returned to find his vehicle wrecked and effectively written off. The town hall maintained that warnings had been issued through several channels and that barriers marked the route.

Insurance is expected to refuse the claim. Spanish policies routinely exclude damage sustained during popular festivals when a vehicle is left on a designated bull-run street, and parking on the course itself is treated as the driver’s responsibility. The repair bill for a nearly new Peugeot 208 subjected to this level of structural assault would run into thousands of euros, leaving the owner facing a total loss.

The video, originally captured by a woman watching from her balcony and later shared widely on social media, has been viewed millions of times. Commentators have been split between amazement at the raw strength on display, a bull casually manhandling a car that outweighs it by roughly double, and criticism of the tradition itself. Organisers and supporters note that encierros remain a deeply rooted part of local fiestas across Spain, while opponents point to the risks to people, property and the animals.

For Fran, the practical consequences are more immediate: a destroyed car, an unresolved insurance dispute, and the lingering image of his Peugeot being tossed about like a toy by an animal that simply refused to be diverted. In Tendilla, the fiestas continued. The bull, after its rampage, was eventually brought back under control. The street, however, was left with a crumpled black hatchback, a snapped tree, and a reminder of just how much force a single charging animal can unleash when it decides a parked car is in its way.
