A man confessed to Charlotte's latest homicide, then turned himself in, saying the deadly shooting was self-defense during an argument over a gun. Aaron McGriff, 30, is now charged with the murder of 18-year-old Adrian Jamal Williams, Jr. The shooting happened around 9:45 Monday morning in the woods off Wheatley Avenue in the Grier Heights neighborhood. McGriff's family flagged our crew down Monday afternoon so he could talk before turning himself in at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. "You shot him?" asked NBC Charlotte reporter Tony Burbeck. "Yes I did," McGriff replied. "You are confessing to a murder to us right now?" Burbeck asked. "Yes, I am, but the story, it was in self-defense," McGriff said.
