British holidaymakers were filmed fleeing Benidorm's beaches today as flash floods turned streets into fast-flowing rivers.
Temperatures in the Spanish resort are currently lower than in the UK.
In a video filmed by cruise worker Charlie Brown, water is seen gushing down a hill in Rincon de Loix as beachgoers desperately lug their deckchairs and parasols to shelter.
The 25-year-old claims the water current was so strong that he lost a flip flop and has been walking round with one shoe ever since.
Charlie, originally from Nottingham, said: "This was after just 30 minutes of heavy rain.
