A Chinese man had to be rescued by police after getting wedged in a fence while trying to cross a road.
A surveillance footage shows the jaywalker squeezing through the gap between two steel bars in China's Anhui province on May 21.
The embarrassed man was freed after a driver stopped by and called police for help.
He had to remain in an awkward squatting position while vehicles passed him on the road.
After a while, a female driver spotted him and asked police for help.
At least five police arrived at the scene to free him by pulling the fence to widen the gap.
The man said he attempted to squeeze through the bars 'for convenience'.
However, police reminded him that there is a pedestrian crossing nearby.
