Firefighters rescued a driver from an SUV that was surrounded by rushing water in Oklahoma City (27 September 2017).
The woman was trapped in Ski Island on Wednesday afternoon when first responders received her 911 call. Ski Island Lake is a subdivision that has the largest private lake of several lake subdivisions in the area.
Firefighters responded to the area around 12.20pm after the woman's SUV was stopped by flood waters.
Authorities said the woman's vehicle became stuck against railing near a spillway. Fire crews used a boat to get to the woman, who was eventually pulled from the vehicle around 1pm.
Dramatic video showed one first responder standing up in the boat as he gave the woman a life vest to fasten on.
Moments later, she is seen climbing from the vehicle as the firefighter pulls her into the inflatable boat.
