A SWAT-officer-in-training plummeted headfirst down a the side of a building and hit a metal signboard during a training abseil.
Officer Shi Li-chuan, of the island's Thunder Squad counter-terrorism tactical unit in Taiwan, was in the middle of a public training session when the blunder happened.
Footage from Taiwan's capital of Taipei shows Officer Shi, 29, and his colleague abseiling down the side of a police station when his legs suddenly lose their grip on the rope.
Instead of slowly descending to the ground, Shi plummets from a height of six storeys and lands face first on a metal LED signboard.
