A woman was filmed painting Star Of David emblems all over a Foodbenders after the store posted a sign that read 'No Zionists Welcome.'
Toronto licensing officials are investigating a Bloor Street West business whose owner has come under fire for posting comments critical of the state of Israel and what she refers to as “Zionists.”
Foodbenders owner Kimberly Hawkins drew attention when she posted comments that “Zionists” were not welcome at her restaurant at 1169 Bloor St. W., and compared them to Nazis.
Hawkins' statements have led to widespread condemnation, from Canadian Jewish organizations like B’Nai Brith and political leaders like Mayor John Tory and Premier Doug Ford. Food delivery platforms Uber and Door Dash also severed ties with her business.
