This Man Has Eaten Nearly Two Entire Couches And Doctors Can't Get Him To Stop
34 days ago
Reality TV has given us a lot over the years, but this moment from My Strange Addiction might be one of the most jaw-dropping yet.
In a now viral clip, a man calmly admits that he has eaten between one and a half and two full couches. Not joking. Actual couches. He tears apart the cushions, pulls out the foam, sprinkles more couch foam on top of it, and eats it like it’s popcorn or cereal.
And somehow, that’s just the beginning.
Doctors revealed that his habit caused a severe intestinal blockage that nearly killed him. At one point, they feared they would have to surgically remove part of his intestines just to save his life. On top of that, medical professionals warned that couch cushions are made with synthetic chemicals and materials that are toxic and absolutely not meant to be consumed by humans.
Still, despite the life threatening scare and repeated warnings, he keeps eating the foam.
The episode has resurfaced online and viewers are struggling to process what they’re watching. Some people are horrified. Others are weirdly fascinated. Many are asking the same question. Is this an addiction, a psychological condition, or something else entirely?
The behavior is often linked to a condition called pica, where people feel compelled to eat non-food items. But even knowing that doesn’t make watching someone casually snack on furniture any easier to digest.
