A trivial dispute over fast food allegedly turned deadly in Texas after an 18-year-old was accused of shooting his friend during a heated argument.
Fort Worth police say Lemarques Darden, 18, has been charged with murder following the death of 19 year old Jarvis Davis, who was fatally shot inside an apartment late last month.
According to court documents, the shooting took place on January 28 at a residence in the 9500 block of Jeremiah Drive. Investigators allege Darden shot Davis in the head during an argument that reportedly began when Davis refused to share his French fries.
Davis was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Witnesses told police the two young men had been arguing verbally before a sudden loud bang was heard. Moments later, Davis was seen slumped on a couch, bleeding from a gunshot wound.
Those inside the apartment then allegedly watched as Darden fled the scene carrying a handgun.
The shocking case has left the local community stunned, with police highlighting how a minor disagreement escalated into deadly violence.
Darden remains in custody as the investigation continues.
