A 10-year-old boy was left with a concussion after plunging more than 20 feet from a zip line at a trampoline park while celebrating his birthday with family, according to reports.
The child, identified as Knox, had been marking his milestone birthday at the Spy Ninjas HQ trampoline park when the terrifying incident unfolded.
His family told 8 News Now that Knox attempted to use a zip line attraction inside the facility when he suddenly fell from a significant height, dropping more than 20 feet to the ground below.
Disturbing video of the incident shows the young boy properly harnessed as he steps off the platform and begins the course. Moments later, he appears to clear part of the obstacle before unexpectedly losing support and plummeting out of frame.
Family members said the fall happened in seconds, turning what was meant to be a joyful birthday outing into a medical emergency. Knox was later diagnosed with a concussion as a result of the fall.
It remains unclear what caused the zip line failure or whether there was a malfunction with the equipment. The family has raised concerns about safety measures at the park, saying they are searching for answers about how the incident was allowed to happen.
The trampoline park has not publicly commented on the incident or confirmed whether an investigation is underway.
