A Woman Who Moved From Switzerland Says American Food Made Her Gain 30 Pounds, Says Our Food Is Filled With Poisons

A woman who moved from Switzerland to the United States is going viral after claiming the American food system is “rigged” and fundamentally different from what she grew up eating in Europe.

In a candid social media video, the woman explains that back home, she ate foods Americans often label as unhealthy without a second thought.

“I used to eat pasta, pizza, everything, and I was skinny and fit and I looked great,” she said.

That all changed after she moved to the US.

According to her, she became more active than ever, took up running, went gluten-free, carefully counted calories, and still gained 30 pounds.

“I literally did everything right,” she said. “And I gained weight.”

The problem, she insists, is not lifestyle. It is the food itself.

She pushed back on the common argument that Europeans are healthier because they walk more or eat smaller portions, saying the real difference lies in how food is produced.

“It is not the European lifestyle,” she said. “It is the food.”

She went on to compare pizza in Europe to pizza in America, claiming the ingredients are worlds apart.

“Food in Europe is just nutritious,” she said. “You’ll eat pizza and it’s actually nutritious for you because of the grains. But then you come here to America and you have flour and it’s just literally bleach. You’re eating bleach.”

That line alone sent the internet into a spiral.

The video quickly filled with comments from people sharing similar experiences. Many said they lost weight while traveling or living abroad despite eating bread, pasta, and cheese regularly, only to gain it back after returning to the US. Others admitted they had always suspected something was off about American food, but felt validated hearing it from someone who grew up elsewhere.
