A routine toilet break turned into a horrifying near-miss when a construction worker’s portaloo was torn to pieces by a digger, in what many believe was meant to be a prank that spiralled dangerously out of control.
The jaw-dropping moment was caught on video and shows the doors of a bright blue portable toilet being ripped clean off by the machine’s metal claws, suddenly exposing a visibly confused man who had been inside moments earlier.
The incident took place on October 10 at a construction site in Jiangxi, after a colleague began tearing into the makeshift toilet without checking whether anyone was inside.
Viewers online have claimed the destruction may have been intended as a joke, but the footage suggests it could easily have ended in tragedy.
As the digger claws through the plastic shell, the worker falls out into the rubble, his hard hat knocked off by the machinery as the structure collapses around him.
Clearly shaken, the man is then seen pulling his trousers back up, retrieving his hard hat, and placing it back on his head before casting a glare at the fellow worker responsible.
Miraculously, he appeared to escape without injury, pausing to check himself over before walking away from the wreckage.
The shocking clip has since gone viral across Chinese social media, with many users condemning the reckless behaviour and warning that what may have been intended as a prank nearly turned deadly.
One stunned viewer summed it up bluntly: “This could have killed him.”
