Two teenage girls have been arrested and charged after investigators say they plotted to murder a fellow student at a Florida high school, with newly released police car footage allegedly capturing the pair laughing and discussing how they wanted to look for their mugshots.

Authorities say the disturbing plot unfolded at Lake Brantley High School, where the suspects are accused of planning to ambush a classmate inside a school restroom and stab him.

Police say the alleged scheme was uncovered after a tip was submitted through FortifyFL, a statewide system designed to allow students and members of the public to anonymously report threats or suspicious activity related to schools.

The tip prompted an investigation that led to the arrest of 14-year-old Lois Olivios Lippert and 15-year-old Isabelle Aurelia Valdez.

According to authorities, the two girls had allegedly discussed a plan to lure the intended victim into a restroom at the school before attacking him with a knife. Investigators later recovered drawings believed to be connected to the alleged plot.

Footage released from a police vehicle following their arrest has added another disturbing layer to the case. In the video, the girls can reportedly be heard laughing and discussing how they wanted to look in their mugshots.

Investigators say the casual tone of the conversation contrasted sharply with the seriousness of the alleged plan they had been accused of carrying out.

Officials have not publicly identified the intended victim, but authorities say the attack was prevented before anyone was harmed.

Both teenagers now face serious charges, including attempted murder and weapons-related offenses.

The case has shocked the local community and raised fresh concerns about threats inside schools, particularly when they originate from fellow students.

School safety programs such as FortifyFL were created in response to previous tragedies in Florida, allowing individuals to quickly report suspicious behavior or potential threats so authorities can intervene before violence occurs.

In this case, investigators say the system may have prevented a potentially deadly attack.

The two girls are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, where they are expected to request release on bond while the case moves forward.

Authorities have not released additional details about the motive behind the alleged plot, and the investigation remains ongoing.
