Absolute Legend Lights And Then Eats A Cigarette On Live TV During Trump Visit Coverage

If you ever needed proof that live TV is undefeated, look no further than what went down during a local news broadcast in Cincinnati while reporters were covering President Donald Trump’s visit to the city.

A reporter for Fox 19 NOW, Alexis Martin, was doing a normal live stand-up about Donald Trump being in town. Standard stuff. Camera rolling, reporter talking, crowd behind her, business as usual.

Then the background guy decided it was his time to shine.

Right behind Martin, an Ohio man casually lights a cigarette. Already a strong start for someone standing in the background of a live TV shot. But instead of smoking it like a normal human being, the guy goes full chaos mode.

He takes the cigarette, sticks the entire thing in his mouth, and just… starts eating it.

Not a quick gag either. He straight up begins chewing the cigarette like it’s a Slim Jim. Filter, tobacco, paper, the whole operation. Just standing there in the background of a live political broadcast, absolutely housing a cigarette like that’s a completely normal Tuesday activity.

Meanwhile, Martin is doing her job like a pro, continuing the report while the human nicotine disposal unit behind her is putting on a clinic.

Eventually, the producers must have caught what was happening because the broadcast quickly cut away from the shot to video of Trump’s visit. Which is probably the right call because there are only so many seconds of a man chewing a lit cigarette on live TV before the internet runs with it forever.

But the damage was already done. The clip immediately started making the rounds because, of course, it did. Nothing says “local news gold” like a perfectly timed background character doing something so bizarre you have to rewind it three times just to make sure you actually saw what you think you saw.
