Guy Tries GTA-Level Identity Switch During Police Chase in LA by Changing Clothes Inside Store... Immediately Gets Tackled Anyway

Only in Los Angeles can a guy allegedly flee police in a white Mercedes convertible, run into a clothing store mid-chase to change his entire appearance like he’s in a spy movie, and still get absolutely smoked by LAPD seconds later.

A viral video filmed at 1154 Santee Alley has the internet dying of laughter because the suspect genuinely appeared to believe he could lose cops by pulling off the quickest wardrobe change in human history.

According to the footage and online reports, the man was already on the run from police in his white Mercedes-Benz convertible before jumping into a store in a desperate attempt to switch identities on the fly.

And honestly, he committed to the bit.

The suspect allegedly ditched his original clothes and threw on stolen merchandise inside the store, including a black-and-gold jersey and a teal backpack, apparently hoping the new outfit would confuse officers chasing him.

Basically, the criminal version of changing your character skin in a video game and praying nobody notices.

At that point, the situation officially crossed over from “crime” into full cartoon logic.

The guy then bolts out of the store and starts sprinting toward the waiting Mercedes like the final scene of an action movie where the hero barely escapes.

For a brief second, you can almost hear the imaginary movie soundtrack playing in his head.

Then LAPD ruined the script.

Officers were already right behind him, and the second he reached the convertible, they swarmed him with a takedown that looked like a linebacker blitzing an unsuspecting quarterback.

Game over.
