A shady gold-chain transaction in a sun-baked apartment complex parking lot went from handshake to high-speed grab in seconds — and the whole chaotic mess was caught on shaky cellphone video that’s now making the rounds online.
The clip opens with a close-up of a young man with dreadlocks and a thick gold chain around his neck. He’s standing on the asphalt near parked cars, an Acura, a silver sedan, a white hatchback, outside what looks like a two-story residential building with palm trees and bushes in the background. Sunshine is glaring. It’s pure daytime street theater.
Within moments, the camera pans to another young guy in a black Nike hoodie and a heavy gold chain. He’s bent over, fingers working what appear to be multiple gold chains and small shiny links. Some pieces are being held up, inspected, counted. Others are scattered right on the cracked blacktop. Hands from more than one person are in the mix, adjusting, testing, flipping the jewelry over. One participant keeps glancing around, looking edgy as hell.
The tension is thick. One of the young men, wearing a gold chain and black zip-up, stares hard into the camera while fidgeting with a bracelet or ring on his wrist. His expression is pure “I don’t like this.”
