SAN DIEGO — Ryan Reynolds pulled off the ultimate Comic-Con prank this weekend, and the fans never saw it coming.

The 49-year-old Deadpool star slipped into a brand-new gray-and-black denim version of his iconic costume, a Canadian tuxedo straight out of the X-Force comics and spent hours wandering the packed San Diego Convention Center floor like just another sweaty cosplayer. No handlers. No security. No ropes. Just pure chaos.

Attendees lined up for selfies, posed with the “cosplayer,” and high-fived the masked mercenary without a clue they were hanging with the real Ryan Reynolds. One blonde fan beamed for a photo. Kids got the full Deadpool treatment. A Joker cosplayer even got the buddy pose. Everyone thought they’d scored a solid pic with a dedicated fan in a killer suit.

They had no idea the guy under the mask was the actual Wade Wilson.

Reynolds later posted a video of the whole undercover operation, calling it “WHAT A GIFT” and thanking the “unapologetic devotion” of the fans who made Deadpool a thing 10 years ago. “No handlers, no security, no ropes,” he wrote. The man was living the dream.

But the real showstopper came in Hall H.

As the Avengers: Doomsday cast — including Robert Downey Jr. and Paul Rudd — sat on stage promoting the December film, a guy in the gray Deadpool suit popped up from the audience, mic in hand.“My name is Ricky… I’m just cosplaying hard,” he deadpanned, staying fully in character.

Then came the questions.

First, to Paul Rudd: “Where is Thor, and why was he crying?” (A cheeky callback to that emotional Deadpool & Wolverine moment.)Rudd shot back that Thor’s a Wrexham fan — a direct dig at Reynolds’ soccer team.

Then the money shot: “This seems an awfully expensive way to announce a film. When do you start filming?”Downey Jr., playing Doctor Doom, wasn’t having it. “It’s in the can, bro. Look around you. Did you bump your head?”

Reynolds played the deflated Deadpool to perfection: “I see. So there’s no additional photography, no overages… maybe last-minute additions? Happy Hogan, fetch the Audi. We’re leaving.”Mic drop. Exit stage left.

The gray suit itself is already sparking theories, denser denim, Canadian flag on the chest, darker vibe. Some are calling it “Jeanpool.” Whatever it is, it’s the first time fans have seen this comic-accurate look in the flesh.

Reynolds has already teased Deadpool 4 is cooking. And with this stunt, he’s basically confirmed the merc with a mouth isn’t done crashing the MCU party anytime soon.

Classic Deadpool. Maximum effort. Zero chill. Pure gold.
