Internet madman IShowSpeed tried to float off into the sunset like a Disney character, and ended up face-planting into his own streaming setup instead.
The chaotic YouTuber, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., hit the massive 60 million subscriber milestone Friday during a live stream and decided the only proper way to mark it was strapping himself to a bunch of giant helium balloons and taking flight, movie “Up”-style.
He hyped it for hours, adding bigger balloons as the sub count ticked up, with a stunt team and medics standing by. When the counter finally flipped to 60 million, Speed, already emotional and screaming, got lifted off the ground amid cheers.
Then one of the balloons exploded.
Down he came, slamming hard onto the pavement and demolishing monitors, tables, and the rest of his outdoor setup in a spectacular wipeout. Clips show him sprawled on the asphalt, mouth open, bloodied and dazed, still somehow yelling about the milestone while surrounded by popped balloons and wreckage.
Fans immediately freaked out in the chat and on social media, with some joking he’d “die for the content” and others genuinely worried. Speed later posted an Instagram Story confirming he was okay after medics checked him out on the spot, flashing a bleeding forehead and thumb for good measure.
The 21-year-old Cincinnati native has built an empire on pure unhinged energy, world tours, soccer stunts, WWE spots, and celebration fails that leave him bloodied more often than not. This one just took the “pain for gain” motto to new heights… or rather, new lows.
At least the sub count kept climbing while he was on the ground. Nothing says “thank you for 60 million” quite like turning your victory lap into a human wrecking ball.
