A 2025 YouGov survey sponsored by the Institute for Family Studies and the Wheatley Institute found married mothers are nearly twice as likely to report being “very happy” as single, childless women. Married women are about half as likely to feel lonely most or all of the time. Physical affection? Married mothers and wives get far more hugs and kisses than their unmarried counterparts.

Other polling shows the ideological split is brutal. Young conservative women are three times more likely than their liberal peers to say they’re “completely satisfied” with life. Liberal women report far higher rates of frequent loneliness, and they’re also far less likely to be married.

The cultural script sold to a generation of women, career first, family later (or never), “you complete yourself”, is colliding with biology and basic human need. The woman in the video isn’t asking for a lecture on self-love. She’s asking for someone to share her life with.

Critics in the replies immediately went after her: She’s too picky. She swiped left on every guy under 6-foot-5. She’ll get a dog instead of a baby. That’s the same script that produced this dinner-table breakdown in the first place.

The numbers keep coming in the same direction. Marriage rates have cratered. Fertility has cratered. Young adults are having less sex. Happiness among the unmarried and childless has not filled the gap. Instead, surveys keep showing the opposite of what the empowerment industrial complex promised.
