A 14-year-old guitarist from China has taken social media by storm after posting a clip of himself tearing through one of rock’s most respected guitar passages and making it look almost easy.

Zihan, from Chengdu in Sichuan province, is no overnight sensation. He has already been crowned China’s youngest adult-category national guitar champion two years running and has been mentioned in connection with a Guinness World Record challenge for speed and precision in fingerstyle playing. His specialty is turning complex pieces, everything from Chopin and Vivaldi to video-game themes and classic rock, into one-guitar arrangements that include melody, bass, rhythm, and even percussive slaps on the body of the instrument.
