Nicolas Cage just got the most Nicolas Cage plot twist imaginable.
The Oscar winner’s $10.5 million oceanfront Malibu mansion is now perched over a gaping 30-by-60-foot sinkhole that swallowed his entire driveway, and almost took the house with it.
The crater opened Tuesday morning on exclusive Sea Level Drive after days of pounding surf from the remnants of Hurricane Marie. One minute neighbors thought it was a small problem. The next, the ground rage-quit.“All hell broke loose,” one local told reporters.
The collapse triggered a gas leak, forced the city to declare a local emergency, and sent more than 30 properties packing. Seven homes were red-tagged as hazardous. Another 24 lost safe road access. A porta-potty and chunks of the driveway now sit at the bottom of the pit like props from a Cage movie.
Waves are now visibly rushing underneath the supports holding up the four-level, 4,000-square-foot house Cage bought in 2024. The actor wasn’t home — the place was under renovation — and no one was hurt.
Officials warn more high tides and rain could make it worse. The private celebrity-packed street is currently a no-go zone.
For a guy who once played Ghost Rider and watched the earth open up on screen, this is a little too on-the-nose.
Even by Cage standards, this one is getting ridiculous.
