Horrifying video filmed inside the aircraft has now emerged — and it matches the passengers’ accounts almost frame for frame.
The clip, circulating from Flydubai flight FZ1073 after its emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, is shot in the cramped space just outside and inside the cockpit area. It is chaotic, poorly lit, and soaked in blood.
What the footage shows
In the opening seconds, the camera is pointed down at a man lying on the floor, chest exposed, surrounded by blood-stained cloth, plastic sheeting and debris. Dark red smears run down the pale cabin wall behind him. Someone’s hand is in shot, pressing material against the injured man as others crowd in.
The camera jerks. A person in a dark top leans over the wounded figure. Another hand appears close to the body. Blood is on the wall, on the floor, on clothing, and on skin.
A man in a checked shirt stands in the narrow aisle, one hand on the door frame, looking down at the scene. Other passengers and crew press in from both sides. Someone points. Voices overlap. The aircraft interior, overhead bins, a galley-like recess, harsh cabin lighting, is unmistakable.
Later in the clip, a bearded passenger turns toward the camera. Another man in a white T-shirt with lettering across the chest appears, face tight, speaking rapidly as people continue to move around the injured pilot. The wounded man remains on the floor, still being attended to, blood visible on his torso and the surrounding fittings.
Toward the end, figures in the tight space raise their hands and shift position as if trying to keep others back or restore some order. The footage does not show the stabbing itself. It shows the aftermath: a cockpit area that looks like a crime scene at 30,000 feet.
Why the video matters
Passengers had already described screams, a pocketknife, a pilot forced to the floor and “blood everywhere.” The video is the first widely seen confirmation of how violent the scene was once the cockpit door was opened.
One Israeli woman told Channel 12: “We heard screams on the plane. Then they opened the cockpit, and we saw blood, and someone had stabbed the pilot with a pocketknife.” Another passenger, Noam, said the plane “started to dive quickly” after they realised a pilot had been seriously wounded. Yasmin Abu Kasis said her daughter Miriam saw a man with a knife pin a pilot to the floor.
That is what the camera appears to have caught: the injured man on the floor, the blood on the bulkhead, and the crush of people who had forced their way in.
Israeli passengers say they, together with crew and two extra pilots travelling in civilian clothes, subdued the attacker and helped get the aircraft back under control after it plunged thousands of feet and broadcast emergency and suspected-hijack codes. An Israeli dentist on board is said to have treated the stabbed pilot.
Flydubai has confirmed only that FZ1073 “experienced an incident,” landed safely at Tabuk, and that all passengers are accounted for. Israeli officials have described a “major disaster” narrowly avoided and said investigators are examining whether one pilot, reported by Israeli sources as an Omani co-pilot, tried to take the aircraft down.
The video does not settle the motive. It does show why people on board thought they were about to die.
