Air Canada plane executes an emergency landing and skids off the runway in Halifax during a suspected landing gear issue.
The incident came within hours as 179 people were killed when a Boeing 737-800 crashed in South Korea.
“The plane started to sit at about a 20-degree angle to the left and, as that happened, we heard a pretty loud, what almost sounded like a crash sound, as the wing of the plane started to skid along the pavement, along with what I presume was the engine,” a passenger told CBC News.
The Air Canada flight landed with zero fatalities, only minor injuries.
Both incidents had apparent landing gear failure.
